I’m considering a W221 S Class 500. Does this have the SBC braking system?
It does have airmatic suspension, anything in particular to look out for with this?

I think SBC finished on most models in 2006 ish ?

I had a 2006 S500L. I’m not aware of any significant weak point. People get angsty about them because of their size, RFL and 27mpg.

The issue is finding one that’s been regularly and properly maintained. Those that have been are phenomenal. Those that haven’t are just a store of minor glitches waiting for someone to rock up.

So I’d say just the usual maintenance suspects: brakes, disks, plugs, fluids, tyres etc etc. The most expensive V8 to run is usually the cheapest one on offer.
