2015 CLS

My neighbour has CLS with USB sockets in the central storage box. His iPod is connect to one. He says each time he drives the audio system says not device connected. But if he pulls the plug out and back in again it works with all the device info on screen.
Anyone know what this issue could be?

Mine does that very occasionally, says "searching for the device" my car is a 2017 w205 c250 estate, just unplug it, replug it in and it works, will ask about it when I take it in for a service

Do what I did. Ditch the iPod and copy the music to a USBII Flash Drive.

I would consider reformatting/restoring the ipod with the latest version of itunes. It will involve Backing everything up and following one of the many guides available on the web. USB sticks are the same and often need an occasional reformat.
