Air Filters

Hi everyone,
I recently bought an '06 CLK320CDI. I love the car, so much so I decided to have it re-mapped. It now drives even better and the fuel consumption has improved, except when I am enjoying the extra power.
The company who did the re-map recommended fitting a pair of K&N filters.
I have bought a pair off the internet, but then read some of the negative comments on the forum.
My first question in, does my car have a MAF?
If it has, should I fit them?
Are they easy to fit?

K&N air filters is one of those subjects that causes much debate, as does supermarket fuel, grammar on the forum and Top Gear.
