Have a w204 dieseland I need to clean the engine bay as it is like the last owner lived down a dust lane and it is covered in thick dust like brick dust almost would careful jet washing be ok or would my best bet be to do it by cloth and water any ideas would be gratefully

I jet wash mine , have done so for many years , with no adverse effect .

Just avoid high pressure jets near wiring/electronics/air intakes etc .

A gentle detergent wash then careful rinse off will do no harm .

Hand cleaning for stubborn deposits may be needed afterwards .

Bilt Hamber Surfex HD on a microfibre cloth (neat or diluted) rinsed off with water. Generally no need for pressure.

Thanks for the advice

I agree Bilt Hamber Surfex, followed by a coat of 303 Protectant.
Simples!!!!!!
