My first post on here but I was wondering if anyone could help.

My boss had given me the task of trying to sell his 2001/2002 (can't remember) Brabus CL 67. Just thought I would post here to see if anyone had any ideas or pointers of how to go about selling this as it is obviously quite a specialised car.

It has the full engine conversion, body kit and full interior conversion. Silver with Black Leather and red inserts. Can post some pics if wanted.

He's only selling as has just bought a CL 63 Brabus Bi-Turbo.

Breaks your heart doesn't it? :bannana: :bannana:

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure someone will be along soon with suggestions - most helpful and maybe one or two self-serving

There was one up for sale recently - an '02 with 13k miles - £50k I think.

Mercedes Enthusiast or of course eBay would get some attention.

I presume the one he's just bought is another V12?

I would try Pistonheads - classifieds are free and its a fairly "specialised" audience, so you never know. Difficult to price though I imagine...

Good luck!

PM Maff and see if you can break him away from his Aston!

He likes a CL or two :D

P'Heads is probably best as already said.

Thanks for the ideas, keep them coming... lol

Have attached some pics, sorry they are not good it's being fully valeted today so I will get some better up in a few days.

The new one is also a V12 but this time black, I think I prefer the Silver to be honest but each to his own.

As it was said the hardest thing is to price it as there isn't much to compare it to.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in...

It's generally advised to blank out registration numbers - helps foil the criminal types I believe!!

Thanks, thats gone too now, he just picked up a brand spanker Vanquish S which is currently sitting outside. I am waiting for him to come out of his 12:00 meeting so he can take me for a spin, haha, not getting much work done.

What is Mercedes Enthusiast? Is it a magazine?

It is - though whether the content is worthwhile is debatable ;).

Autotrader is still a good place as most interesting cars get picked up by forums such as this. Alternatively there are lots of specialist european dealers that will sell on commission.

As a start I'll give him £30k for it ;).

In terms of what its worth (retail) I suppose one way to guage would be to price similar age/mileage CL600s and/or CL55s and then add a premium - 10-15%??
Alternatively why is he not just trading it for the new one?
At least if he gets a trade in price from the dealer it will give him a bottom end price to work from. But it will be a tough car to sell privately......and why is he bothering for a few extra grand, if he can afford the kind of money he's spending on the '63?

OK - lets play hard

You ever see a film called Indecent Proposal?

My thought too. It's a very specialised car to sell privately, and may end up holding on to it for a while. Selling privately may have the potential to yield a little extra for it, in reality the cost of depreciation and maintenance in the meantime may outweigh the benefit.

Good luck with the sale. A very nice and unusual car.
