Have you driven an E43?

The new E class is miles ahead in terms of noise isolation.

No noise coming from the 43 engine, that’s why.

If every new generation is ‘miles ahead’ in terms of noise insulation, with electric future looming, we’ll soon be driving in deafening silence. Something to look forward to. Not :-(

Let me be very clear, the C43 is a great car BUT, there is something about the E63 that is quite special although, it is a little frustrating/confusing that I cannot articulate what that is.

It maybe simply as you say a "combination" In my own experience it comes down to Cubic Capacity (as the Americans like to say). Not because the bigger capacity makes you want to thrash, quiet the opposite. You just do not need to race it. They tend to be effortless machines that can perform in almost any any manner you choose. That gives you a confidence to enjoy the ride and not have to focus or concentrate on pushing the car.

I was referring to road / tyre noise. It can become tedious on long journeys.
