I have a 500e which I purchased from Japan, it’s a euro car and the data card doesn’t show the AMG engineering package (957) but I noticed a plaque in the engine bay which looks pretty old and genuine.

It’s the M119 E60 badge that is faded.

Any help or pointers?

Thanks

Could be the real thing, could be just a sticker - perceived prestige is a big thing over there. AMG Japan operated as a separate entity so you wouldn't necessarily see it on the data card.

To be sure you'll probably need to pull a spark plug and manually wind the engine over to measure the stroke.

May we please see the rest of this Autobahn beast?
Japan cars had specific options list, AMG were huge in JP.

Another way to tell is by the engine number stamped near the flywheel behind the left head which should be AMG 1199760 + sequential number

LHD luxobarges were the favourite transport of the Yakuza 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
