Factory or not? Kit

I currently own a 1999 c230k manual with classic trim and have been offered a 1997 c230k sport with AMG kit. Did merc offer this car with an AMG trim option at that time? He wants £500 for it, so I think its worth it just for the bits, if they are geniune.

I forgot to ask, How much of the car would have AMG trim if it is an optional add on?

Yes any car could come with an AMG kit.

If genuine and fitted in 1997 it could be a C43 style kit which would be well worth having.
