Hi Everyone a newbie to the forum here with questions that I am sure you have heard before but any thoughts still welcome
1. Why does the temp of my S320 (05 diesel) rise about every 40 to 45 mins and the fuel economy drop through the floor - type of driving, outside temp etc makes no difference fuel econ can drop from 36mpg to 31mpg in 3 minutes then after 10 mins everything returns to normal The exhaust goes a bit boomy in sound when this happens
2. What temperature should the engine run at, I suspect I have a sticking thermostat as temperature fluctuates between 60 and 80Degrees
3. I have a constant knocking that can only be picked up on smooth surfaces around 25 to 30mph, I have checked tracking, balancing and anything in tyre tread etc but no luck, it is speed related not engine but apart from that I am at a loss, it has not got any worse over the last 2,000 miles but is annoying
