steering wheel controls adapter query

hi all

well its finally happened i have managed to get a lovely 2002 E200 Kompressor Avantgarde so i'am back in the fold and I can give my w124 a rest .

What i want to do is to replace its standard radio with a more newer model ( pioneer/Alpine etc supporting usb mp3 etc ) etc and would like to keep the steering wheel controls.

I have had a brief search around the web and cannot seem to find such a device. Has anyone out there done a radio change and kept the steering wheel controls if so can you please let me know the models and cables that worked for you ?

Adapters used to be available for between £15-£30 but they seem to have all disappeared, I guess due to the age of the vehicle. One company on eBay is selling adapters but for a quite ridiculous £100.
They cover alpine, pioneer, Sony, Kenwood and JVC.
