W164 head unit playing up

Evening all

So recently I’ve started having trouble with phone connection to the car
It basically just drops the phone out mid call and the “waiting for Bluetooth devices” message comes on the screen
As soon as I restart the head unit it reconnects
Had the same phone for ages now so it’s not like I’ve paired a new phone
Anyone got any bright ideas

No bright ideas, just random thoughts.

Your phone isn't new but it might have had a recent software update that has changed its behaviour. That would explain why this has only started happening now. Alternatively, have you recently added some other electronic equipment such as a dashcam that might be interfering with the Bluetooth connection?

Does your stereo support Bluetooth audio (playing music from the phone on the stereo via the Bluetooth connection)? With my W212 (NTG4.0) I found that my new phone wouldn't stay connected on Bluetooth until I disabled Bluetooth audio for the connection at the phone end, after which the phone was happy to stay connected for phone calls. My previous phone had no such issue with this car.
