W211 Centre Dash Wood Trim Under Centre Vent/Climate Removal

Can anyone point me in the direction of where the holding clips are and which way it slides?

Found some info but it's all for LHD and shows the holding clip near the ignition switch with the trim sliding to the right after prying this up.

My climate unit doesn't seem to light very bright so wanted to have a look and see if there is any lights in the unit.

Haynes manual states -

"Prise the right hand end of the decorative strip rear wards, then slide it to the left from the retaining clips".
