What's this W124 coupe worth?

I've been told about a "barn find" C124 E320 that I'm going to look at tomorrow, all I know is that it's done 141k and its in that dark green (looks more blue to me) and cream cloth interior.

Assuming it's salvageable, what should I be offering?
 
There's no way to tell until you've seen it but with no MOT and assuming that it's been off the road for a while I would say under £500. If it doesn't run and there is no way assess its mechanical condition then I would say it has little more than scrap value - maybe £200.
 
Cream cloth in a 320 is rare - if velour, good, if cloth otherwise, not good as it means poverty spec.

Frankly a 141k car that's stood around, no MOT, needing work is low hundreds not thousands. Or nothing at all.
 
Without further info/pictures impossible to say. But sight unseen/non runner I would price it as you would a car breaking for spares. Usually a barn find implies the car has developed a financially unsustainable fault for the previous owner and been dumped till better times-which never came - engine/ cylinder head gasket/ engine wiring loom/ gearbox gone /body-rear subframe/sills rusted through etc etc
 
The Reg is M753 YUD if someone can get the data card from that please?

I was thinking sub-£500 but it's dependant on two things:

1. If it runs.

2. How bad the rust is.

The first will be easy to find out, the second maybe not so much.....!
 
If he pushed it out then its probably a non runner- that said if its just the battery that's at fault if you have a suitable spare battery kicking about it might be worth taking one with you to see if it will run/turn over ???

Whilst not disagreeing with the above , the other scenario , which is not unusual with Mercedes in particular , is that an elderly owner does less and less driving , becomes infirm , gives up driving ( with the perfectly good car just being left on the drive / in the garage ) , then dies and said car comes up for sale .

With luck , it may need nothing more than tyres and other perishable parts replaced , some fuel , new battery , and you have a running car ?
 
I'm completely prepared to be told I'm wrong, but looking at the photograph I can't see any discontinuity in the reflections on the roof that I'd expect to see if there was a sunroof fitted, as option 412 implies.
 
Been to look at it this morning and got a price and a bit more info, it's only had two owners (including the current owner) and the body is amazingly rust free bar the usual around the Aries on the rear wing.

He's going to give it a wash and start it up on Monday for me, the proof will be in the pudding I suppose.

It does have the sunroof, I've seen it in the flesh this morning.
