anyone tried Leiderhosen? I had a lovely pair when i was about 4. I think my Dad got them from Austria. I often think of them with great affection....

Me too in the 1950s . My granddad got them in Germany for me. They went from me to both of my brothers as well.

The secondhand leather and wood steering wheel is now free of years of human body fat and boogers!! I had never given this much thought until this thread !!

The leather seat are up next! Luckily there is not that much room in an SL to have the same deposits as 'Hammonds' BMW in that Top Gear episode

ha ha good shout and relevant to the thread for minging steering wheel.

I have a pair having lived in S Germany. The way to look after them is after eating fatty food like schweinehaxe is to rub your hands clean on them. The fat preserves the leather.
