Yeah thats true, its no 5 minute job. does take a bit of playing about as said, along with everything else. We have a vehicle repair shop at home, so deal with all sorts, and have seen all sorts of springs fly round the garage, not to metion breaking 2 windows and several flu tube lights in 1...

just to throw my 2pence worth, i used a normal spring compressor, it is a bit fiddley, but you can do it (just make sure and chain the spring for safety!) as for special tools, from memory we used an allen key and a good quiality ring spanner to remove the strut bearing. just have a good look...

oh thats not cheap at all. alot of ones say about harsh ride, ive drove a few cars with 19's and found it not bad, but then again ive come from an 86 mini slammed on 13x7's to the merc so maybe i dont notice it as much! lol
