2018 E400d Estate behaving fine until 3 months ago.
Since then whenever I try to fill up (BP usually) pull trigger and the pump starts but almost immediately cuts out.
Have tried different pumps, at different fuel stations but it clicks off so often that it usually causes the pump to require...
I tow a twin axle touring caravan, of 1,950 kg with an E400d Estate. Car has run flats all round, front are 245/35 R20 Michelin Pilot Sport3 and rears are 275/30 R20 Pirelli PZero.
Towing ratio is 85-87%.
I am trying to find qualified advice on how much to increase rear tyre pressures by when...
Anyone else struggling to get Mercedes me to work.
Have 27 of 28 functions all activated - vehicle is 4 years and 12 days old!
Had issue that stopped remote functions working but lock / unlock now ok, range, fuel and tyre pressures all seem ok.
Cannot find how to access anything else - E.g...
Issue resolved as I found a brilliant auto sparks locally who checked it out whilst we waited and would not even take any money at all! All pins connected.
Cheers for your inputs.
My '68 E Class Estate has a factory fitted retractable tow bar.
Does any one know if all such MB fitted towers are fully wired for 13 pin please? I've seen some internet posts showing how one can check with a multimeter but before I go down that route I though it was worth asking on here!

Result (or nearly)! Michelin have sent two new tyres FOC to the dealer - only issue is dealer has never sold this model before so doesn't want them, hence no refund.
However, have them in storage and if they go up in price by the time I need some more it may even save me some money!
Bad news...
whitenemsis,
Wearing was on the inside shoulder - I'd describe it as where the tread joins the wall - approx where the dark band is on this pic but on the inside edge
Have recently posted (on Broken Tyres) about the 2 x front tyres worn down to cords after 20,144 miles (3 years) so failing it's first MOT - also the tread was still between 5 - 5.5mm.
Had a 4 wheel alignment check done today by a firs class tyre dealer who's operator reckoned the set up was...
MOT now Passed but my wallet is £618 lighter (double ouch) - just have to hope these two last more than 20,144 miles!

PS Contacted Michelin who, I have to say, were quick off the mark to respond apologising for the inconvenience.
They said these tyres should be good for 30,000 to 50000...
MCFastybloke,
Sorry but my PC would not send a reply to your post so I had to start again.
Can you advise what increase in pressure you applied to your BMW tyres please? It is worth a try.
Mine on the Merc were running at 265-270 kpa (as per detail in fuel flap) which I think is 2.65 - 2.7...
Stratman,
I only know of a few that I have had to cross - and the journey they used to be on I will not be doing any more so that might help.
As a rule I do try to straddle them - they are usually narrower than the car's wheel track. Do you think straddling can cause the issue?

Graham T,
Yes, he marked the offside tyre and I would say his description is spot on. Plus the near side is well on the way too.
There are multiple splits along the margin between the tread and side wall - in the worst place it must be a line circa around 200mm long and the splits are 12mm or...
Anyone come across this before?
Just had my '68 plate E400d estate through its first MOT - which it duly failed!! Mileage is 20,244.
