    CLK63 AMG Coupe

Hi all, Some of you may know me and others may not. I have been a member here for some years and you may well know my CLK63 that I've had for some 15yrs. If you do know me/ the car, then you will know how meticulously the car has been kept. Due to children entering the equation, the car is just...

Benz On The Green 2023 on the 13th of May

Another great day at PCS. Many thanks as usual to Pauline & Ollie. Always a pleasure to see you both and join the event. Big apologies to all of you for not having as much time to spend talking as I would have liked. It seems having kids running around makes this a challenge 😩. Nonetheless, it...

Simply Mercedes, Beaulieu: 21st August 2022

Great day out and it was good to see some of you ramble down there too 👍🏼 Awesome display of cars. Glad I made the trip down. Pretty long drive but worth it. Great venue. Didn’t even get to see it all - there was a lot to see and do. Another trip down there is definitely on the cards.

    Oil consumption?

Checking once in a while for peace of mind won’t harm. Might just not drink oil 👍🏼

    Oil consumption?

It’s always interesting to read about people’s oil consumption (genuinely). It does appear to me that people have different experiences with consumption. Due to different engines? Very slight variations in component tolerances in addition to the engines being hand assembled? My car has never...

👍🏼 Lightly buff with a dry microfibre after applying 425 for an enhanced finish 👍🏼

Considering selling my 507 and getting a C63s.

What we need is a good thread about a Range Rover and some bikers..

My detailing is no different from 30 years ago - am I foolishly behind the times?

Once finished, I can throw a cloth up the bonnet and it’ll slide up the bonnet, up the windscreen, over the roof and down the rear window onto the boot lid. Back in the day, my cat tried jumping on the car. She slid off and never tried again. lol I’ve seen spiders also trying to “make the...

My detailing is no different from 30 years ago - am I foolishly behind the times?

One other thing probably worth mentioning: After I wax the car, I let it fully cure over night. I’ll also go over the car with a micro fibre and brush to get any wax residue that I may have missed when buffing the wax off. Then, I wipe the car down with FK #425 (their detailing spray). I’ve...

My detailing is no different from 30 years ago - am I foolishly behind the times?

The 2685 is a softer paste wax, so easier to apply and buff off. The 1000P feels stodgier to apply and, once dry, also feels harder to buff off. I can’t say I notice a difference in finish - mostly because I wax the car more often than most and alternate between the two waxes. But if I remember...

    It’s a good wax. Very durable. I use FK1000P & FK2685 I alternate between the two.
