ps it was also stuck in park and had to be released with the switch by the gear stick

Had an issue with the RAC, they came out and told us it was the brake light switch, gear box esp/bas lights came on and wont start, so changed the switch, still wont start. Says on the forum about 'resetting' but don't know how to, BUT I have also been told it could be the gearbox sensor...
