Newbie has a few questions on W211

I've got the electric floor, and love it. Why they've gotten rid of it eludes me. I would find the third row of seats about as useful as a t!t on a boar, as some are want to say. The elec floor makes it a heck of a lot easier to load/unload all those gold bricks of mine. :bannana:

    S211 Luggage cover

We had our car in at least 5-6 times trying to get this problem fixed. On the final visit, they kept the car for more than a week, and ended up replacing every conceivable part known to man (one at a time) including the SAM and a bunch of other control units. Turns out that some part was...

The first evidence I've seen of an Engineering mode for Audio 50

http://forums.mbworld.org/forums/showpost.php?p=2650707&postcount=160 Up until now, any questions I'd asked about the existence of such remained unanswered. (use at your own risk)

    MP3 disc in W211

But the disc in question is in the single slot above, and not in the six-disc changer, correct?

    MP3 disc in W211

This is a "known issue", but not a defect. CD changer's only set up to read 99 files... yeah it's a p!sser.

E Class W211 Comand. What will fitt?

I'm confused (that's not unusual...). Does an Audio 20 unit make use of the audio gateway? I thought I'd heard elsewhere that some people with Audio 20s wanting to upgrade to APS would need to ADD an audio gateway also.... was I dreaming?

Doesn't mean anything to you gents in the UK, but...

MB Canada's parts pricing is over double what I find charged in the US, notwithstanding that our currency is effectively at par with theirs. Obscene. What's a Canadian to do?

CD changer only plays 99 MP3 Tracks

The putting files into folders did not work for me and my six-disc changer. The head unit will read above 99 but not the changer. The other peeve of mine is that the COMAND head unit will display track names but not let me scroll through folders of a disc that is in the changer.

    AUX\Line IN on a w211 APS 50

Not possible on APS50. Only the full COMAND unit has the Aux-in feature.

    Aftermarket stereo in W211

In a W211, isn't the sound quality dictated by the audio gateway, and not the head unit? (For non-Audio 20 units, that is...)

"Conversion" of Audio 50 to Audio 50 APS?

Out of sheer curiosity... has anyone ever tried to see if the APS function of a North American spec Audio 50 (non-APS) will work in Europe, with or without having to do any serious modifications? The reason I ask is that there is a FAKRA input (blue, if I recall, and which I'm pretty sure is...

Instructions/pix for installing COMAND Aux cable in W211/S211?

Instructions/pix for installing COMAND Aux cable in W211/S211?

Well... after several minutes of frustration, I've been unable to figure out how to thread (retrofit) the AUX cable. I had the COMAND unit out, tried threading the cable, also tried threading a thin, plastic strip through as a "leader", but zero success. I'm really stumped, and could really...

Instructions/pix for installing COMAND Aux cable in W211/S211?

Hey everyone. I'm retro-fitting my Audio 50 with a COMAND unit, and thought that would be a good time to also install the aux cable that runs to the glove box. We're doing this in a 2004 S211. I know how to get the COMAND unit in and out no problem, and know how to remove the top inside bit of...

Mystery: two open-ended electrical lines out of the D pillar (S211)

Sorry, guys. Hope you don't mind someone from North America posting here. I'm doing so because it seems that MB fans are more hands-on in Europe than in North America.

Mystery: two open-ended electrical lines out of the D pillar (S211)

Here's a question for the experts: I have two electrical lines that feed out of the D-pillar on the driver's side of our wagon. Each of them have open-ended connectors on them, indicating that I seem to be pre-wired for a few things that are not installed on our particular vehicle. There's a...
