Cars/bikes we wish we still had

Yes they did, a fantastic idea owing to the weight, I believe in the U.S they made an 'interstate' version where a few of the 'mod cons' were removed, including the reverse gear, they will have been very awkward indeed to try and move backwards.... The weight disappeared over about 3 mph .. Its...

Sat in a few cars today - my favourite was a KIA!!

Had the 5 series in for a service today, so took the opportunity to have a wander into the car showrooms nearby, boy was I in for a surprise! The Vauxhall Insignia looks a bit boring on the outside but I was surprised how nice it felt inside - very well put together. The Volvo S90 was...

Why do many motorcyclists/motorbikers seem to ignore speedlimits?

So I've guessed you don't like Motorcycles. . And as one went passed you... You didn't like it .. One can make an assumption that as he 'wouldn't let you passed in your car' you drove right up his back end.. Then from the sounds of it made a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre? In my...

Is there less help on the forum than a few yrs ago

I'll confess .. I didn't know there was an OT section  .... Now I do, judging by the comments on here, I'll stay away This is the only forum I'm on. Not just motoring but full stop. I tried joining others (when I bought the BMW and more recently my new Motorbike) but it felt like most...

I want to get back to Mercedes...

Haha .... Yeah it seems like that.. But I think this is more of a personal thing than the car being 'bad' .... I'm just not feeling it with the BMW. In all the mercs if had, I got to the end of the journey wanting to carry on, I wanted to spend time in the car, I don't with the 5er.. Its 'just...

I want to get back to Mercedes...

I'll try leaving the stalk up and put the auto on see if that works If memory serves with the Cls you twist the stalk down and the wipers are on auto. In the BMW there is an auto button on the end of the stalk which for me turns off if you turn the car off.. But I'm hoping the above fixes my issue

I want to get back to Mercedes...

I wouldn't be put off too much by my experience. It does everything well...but I think, for me, that's part of the problem. It's has no charisma. It handles well enough (take the run flat's off though!)... The 520d moves OK but I'd recommend you go for a more powerful one if you can (530d etc)...
