    M113 M113K comparability

Happy new year all. Just wondered if anyone can tell me if there are any parts of a 5.0 M113 engine that would fit my 5.4 M113k? I know the block is different, but im thinking more the valve covers, exhaust manifolds, harmonic balancer, or anything from the cylinder heads. The engine is only a...

    Pinch weld

Thanks for your reply, yes there are some fairly decent rubber pads on the lift, and yes I will look to see if there’s some decent subframe points. Just seams a daft idea to me, I’ve already serviced my E55 and my mates old Range Rover which has specified flat lift points, nice and easy.

    Pinch weld

Morning all, over the next few weeks I’ve got to service my 2012 Citan van and my daughters 2012 ford fiesta, I have the use of my friends two post lift, both these vehicles have pinch weld lifting points, my question is can I place the lift pads directly on the pinch weld points, or shall I...

    Storage tips

Evening mate, I’ve got hold of the ctek you suggested, I’ve got a AGM starter battery in the rear and a auxiliary/SBC battery in the front (not sure if that’s AGM or lead acid) do they both get charged simultaneously, or should I remove the auxiliary battery? Cheers Matt.

Yes we’ll worth thinking about, thought I might stick a few pics of the mother in law around, they’ll probably throw themselves on the traps. 🤣

    Storage tips

Thanks, yes I got the car nice and hot, and that oil and filter had only done 2k. Luckily enough my best mate has just rented a small workshop mainly to store his contract cleaning machinery, but the real bonus is that it has a 2.8t two post lift, which made servicing and waxoil treatment a real...

    Storage tips

Thanks again, I’ve ordered some silica and fuel stabiliser, do you think silicone spray on a rag would do the same job as the gummi stuff, if not I’ll get hold of some. Friend of mine is going to machine polish and ceramic coat before she goes away. Thanks again for your advice. Matt.

Brilliant, thanks for the reply. Just out of interest, what other precautions would you take if car was in storage for longer periods of time?

    Storage tips

Hello all, I’ve just bought my fathers old merc citan van as I’ve got some building work to do on the house. My 03 E55 will be going into dry (not temp controlled) storage for at least six months. I’ve just changed the engine oil and filter and had her up in the air to remove covers and wheel...

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Had both rear arches sorted, new panels welded in, painted and stone chip treated on inner lips, rear bumper sprayed aswell, not cheap, but a top class job, the E55 looks the business again.

Did I have a lucky escape?

Thanks for replay, he originally was selling engine as is, excluding supercharger pulleys etc, but I asked if he would consider selling without heads, that way I could have a good look at the bores, but obviously you can look at loads of pictures but you can’t feel with your eyes, and he must of...

Did I have a lucky escape?

Just been to see a M113K block that I had planned on keeping as a spare for my E55, the guy selling had sent me loads of pictures of bores that looked fine after apparently doing 90k, but on closer inspection I found a few vertical lines that I could positively feel with my finger nails, so I...

    SBC Pump Unit Problem

Good luck with getting the dealer to sort, if you don’t get any joy there, then your choices are finding a decent independent to fit new unit, which will prob set you back £1500-£2000, or find someone who can refurbish your own unit. What I would say from my own experiences, is that it may well...
