    W202 unsolvable driveline vibration

Done! 80% of the vibration of the car is gone! The biggest issue i had to deal with is that the metal inserts were pushed the wrong way, tightening the bolts again with the flex disc correctly installed helped but the flex disc is still not 100% straight, hard to explain without a picture. I'll...

    W202 unsolvable driveline vibration

I'll keep you posted for sure! I've seen hundreds of threads on various forums and no one ever made any mention of this. Fingers crossed.

    W202 unsolvable driveline vibration

Thank you, i owe you a lot. You got me thinking about the flex disc and i think the new flex disc is not installed as it should. As i understand it, the propshaft turns clockwise looking towards the rear of the car. This means the propshaft "pushes" the thicker part of the flex disc. Mine is...

    W202 unsolvable driveline vibration

The wheels look perfect and i have inspected them a few times alreay. A mechanic told be it could be a wheel bearing and to be honest there's a lot of road noise in the cabin, something that could be a wheel bearing but i can't imagine a bearing making this kind of rumble that feels like an open...

    W202 unsolvable driveline vibration

Didn't mention it but i've tried driving with the plastic undertrays on and off the car as well! I can feel the vibration in the armrest and seats, about the 80-100 kmh is the worst and it doesn't get worse the faster i go, it may even be slightly smoother at say 130-140 kmh.

    W202 unsolvable driveline vibration

It's hard to tell but to me it feels more like it is propshaft related, it feels like it matches engine rpm in 4th gear (4th gear ratio is 1:1 i believe).

    W202 unsolvable driveline vibration

Hello everyone! I am trying to get rid of a driveline vibration, i'll try to explain as best as i can what happens but this is really doing my head in. I bought the car about a year ago and swapped the motor mounts and front flex disc as they were decimated (Lemförder mounts, SGF flex discs)...

    MKB-TEC Wiring harness rebuild

Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you had your eco-junk wiring harness repaired by MKB-TEC in germany. I'm pretty sure the build quality is awesome but they seem a bit sluggish. They state that the product will be sent back the customer immediately once repaired but it's been a few days...

    W124 rattles

Yes, sometimes i have to go in other cars from the same era or even newer and i understand what rattle means. The shifter rattle comes from a bushing completely missing at the end of the rod between the shifter and the transmission.

W124 rear end thud on bad surface/low speed

Forgot to mention that it is the 93 220E, not the estate.

W124 rear end thud on bad surface/low speed

Hard to tell, are you talking about rust forming on the metal part inside the rubber mount or the chassis? The chassis has little rust where the subframe mounts to it. I caught that in time when the factory coating was slowly starting to peel off, i sanded it off and it's all solid metal.

    W124 rattles

Thanks, The panel was remove before and i think there's a loose bolt, probably the check strap. It sounds like it's coming from the front. I'll report when the noise is fixed.

W124 rear end thud on bad surface/low speed

Hi everyone, this is one of the annoying, quite hard to diagnose noise. There's a thud noise at the back of the car. At first i thought it was a bag of tools left in the boot. It's bad when driving over pavement or a rough surface with gravel or some of the very patched roads we have here...

    W124 rattles

Hi everyone, I'm slowly fixing every issue my 220E has but i now have a rattle in the shifter, it is a bit loose and the rattle gets so bad a certain speeds, i have to hold it with my hand, and push it a bit towards N to get the noise to stop. I am aware of the two bushings that usually go bad...

    More S124 rust...

I made a thread about my 220E's rust not too long ago but i recently replaced the radiator on my former S124 that is now only driven by my father and had a few surprises. He drives very little and the car is kept in a garage but from time to time he is complaining about the interior being a bit...

    New Michelin tire leaking air

It turns out there was also a big screw in my brand new tyre... Not a single tyre problem during the last 6 years and then a screw in a brand new Michelin the day i install it.
