As jay says
Right where water collects sometimes... Great design? Worth checking it's not too damp down there, the water drains through a small hole in a rubber bung under the changer which can block easily.
I appreciate water shouldn't be able to get there in the first place but it can...
Sorry for seemingly abandoning this thread but have been busy with work.
Dealer looked at the car - they think there's a problem with the throttle controller and will replace that - still no view on the intermittently faulty lights
FYI - it doesn't have LED's or DRL's
Thanks to those...
it's downstairs in the office car park - i'll go and have a look for myself this afternoon if i have time so at least we can cover off the existence of DRL's

We once took a 'client' to Goodwood Festival of Speed.
He turned up in a Lagonda (as in one of 1930's vintage not an Aston Martin) - and we got to discussing cars, as you do. We were going through his car collection which consisted of various modern and historic exotica and got up to about...
It was jumped from another car which was running
The headlights are on, not fogs - and the owner (who to be fair is even less clueless than me) says there aren't any DRL's/LED's. He's insistent that it's changed recently.
Cheers
Thanks - the battery was jumped to the 'jump points' in accordance with the manual (apparently - not done by me).
The lights are not the DRL's - definitely a change from before.
It's being sorted by the dealers, unless they claim the owner's been negligent by allowingthe battery to...
Guys
Can anybody help me help a friend please?
Car is a new (Feb10) ML as above - let me know if you need any further details.
It has recently been left standing for a couple of months during which time the battery (predictably) drained completely. Restarted OK with the help of jump...
I have been known to do the same - the boot wont even stay shut, let alone lock - I cringed about the expense at first too (not that we think the worst about our cars)
I agree the wing will serve a function and it is a pure race car, not a road car, but the rear appendage still looks like it came from Halfords.
Caught a glimpse of a red SLS on the M6 yesterday (opposite carriageway unfortunately) - looked stunning.
I took mine to Le Mans twice - the suspension failed the first time and the crank position sensor failed the second, stranding me in the Euro Tunnel car park! Not sure it's the perfect wagon for Le Mans ;) (I do see you point though - it was an absolute hoot when it was working)
My 2p - the...
Only even had one close call - was driving in France with my family in the car when a flat-bed lorry understeered onto my side of the road. As I was on the right hand side of the car and driving on the right I managed to brake hard and steer all the way to one side away from him (there was a...
I was looking (on/off) during last year.
I found the availability plummeted during summer - prices only spiked at the start of Winter.
Can't help on storage but I wouldn't be too bothered about the effect of damp on the tyres
I had the same issue - it turned out to be one of the ABC pipes chaffing against a part of the suspension. A rare fault (apparently...) - can't remember the cost to fix I am afraid. Mine went at about 90k miles. I hope, for your wallet's sake, it's a pipe, not a strut!

My 2000 CL was accepted for rust claims around the wheel arches and c pillars a couple of years ago without blinking - they said at the time that they had to get it in quickly as it was close to the eight year limit and (despite it being accepted) I had a full on 'discussion' with them...
