Sorry gents, in my post above, `SLA` should of course read as `SLK` - I work in IT so I must have had a `Service Level Agreement` (SLA) on my mind at the time !!
I am currently rustproofing SLA R170 rear arches, does anyone know if I can remove all visible grommets and rustproof the cavities or are there only certain ones I should do ? Any advice welcome.
I am planning to clean and then rustproof inside all 4 wheel arches on my 2003 SLK 320, so will need to remove all the wheel arch liners. Does anyone know if it is a simple job to remove the liners or is there anything I need to be aware of ? Any advice would be welcome !

Just seen this thread having also got my 2004 SLK320 (R170) today `Back from rust removal` repaired by Mercedes under the 30 year Corrosion Warranty (reduced to 8 yrs by Mercedes).I discovered rust on 4 wheel arch lips and one front wing. Following initial inspection...

After 3 weeks I am still awaiting a decision from Mercedes following my perforated bodywork warranty claim (car 7 years old). Does anyone know if there anything I can possibly do in the meantime to maybe slow down the continued rusting process on inner lip of all 4...
