buying used mb

I am looking to buy a 2/3 year old MB and frankly I am not the best negotiator around. Is asking for around 5% discount from a dealer too much? too little ? or about right ? Would you buy a MB from a non-MB main dealer ? Obviously, MB told me I shouldn't buy anywhere else. Any help would...
