Test for longevity only by a detailer, and some products may be obsolete /superseded due to the age of the test

I have a 11.7l vessel bought in early June. I only use it for final rinse, and until now I have left the cars to dry naturally. However, on last wash I noticed a couple of small water marks. Nothing serious and easily removed.
So I checked with meter and it's reading 46ppm now. Looking up...
Spotted this in the local garage this morning a 1924 Trojan Utility. Seems to have lasted well for what was a basic basic vehicle, no sign of rust :) shot with camera phone :(
Ours is a W211 and am wondering how long things are likely to last before going south in a major way.
The miles in it are nearly all motorway miles - put it this way, the original Michelins on the rear lasted 48000miles before needing replacement.
