normalising

Hi Guys, Anyone any ideas as how to normalise the volume on my various computer resident mp3's? Iv'e got loads of cd tracks that I ripped to my hard drive but listening to them with winamp is painful cos the volume is so different between tracks. Obviously I would prefer a freebie prog but...
