    R170 SLK 230 Strange 'pumping' type noise

    Hi all, Got an SLK 230 a week ago and haven't driven very much. When I have, have started to notice a weird noise. Doesn't happen until warmed up - probably 3 minutes of running. Touch the accelerator and RPM goes over 1200 - 1500 - there's a sort of 'pump' noise from the engine bay...

    Increase mpg just by pumping up tyres

    Hi, I've increased my mpg from an average of about 31 to 34 just by pumping up the tyres from 30/33 fr/r psi to 35/35 fr/r psi. This seems safe to me, but would 40 psi be pushing it??? It's a w202 c200 auto. Cheers. (PS I need a tow bar if anyones got one going)

    "Pumping" noise

    I have recently taken delivery of an ex-demonstrator E280 CDI. As soon as I start the engine I get a sort of "pumping" noise for a few seconds which I was told was normal and was associated with the braking system. Fair enough. but I am now getting the same thing intermittently every mile or so...
