My 04 E500 estate has gone in for a service, and has revealed a nasty surprises. One is that the radiator is about to go and MB are out of stock in Germany. I have ordered one from ECP which will arrive in the morning, but it's a Valeo, which was notorious in the day. Should I be concerned about...

As a new owner of a 2002 Mercedes E270 CDI I have been reading of serious problems if your vehicle is fitted with a Valeo radiator. How can I find out and identify if there is a problem.

I've read the many posts on here about this problem, and believed that it is limited to certain models. I read yesterday's Motoring section in the Daily Telegraph which suggested 210s, 211s, 203s, 209s and generally all Mercs built between 2000-2004 with Valeo radiators are at risk with letters...

hello - does anyone have any experience of fitting one of these? is it a wise money saving option (assuming the thing has some kind of guarantee) or, as a garage told me, like 'wearing someone else's used undies'? my 190D needs a new rad and i'm trying to do it on the cheap...
