Anyone got a quick and easy way of stripping underseal? The 450 has four decades of additions which looks a real mess so decided to start again from bare metal. Currently using a heat gun but it is proving slow and messy.
I want to replace at least one of my front wings. What is the best way of preparing and undersealing to prevent return of the rust? Can this underseal be applied before the new wing is fitted? Thanks.

as some of you are aware, i'm currently restoring my 1985 R107 SL.
The outer sills/rockers under the doors are, by standard spray painted matt black.
i've repaired these with new metal and the finish is good, however the original curve of the sill is intact but close up (ie rubbing...
