I'm going to attempt an adaptation of a W176 black Mercedes bonnet star to the W169/R230 type of fixing.
This will involved taking a mould from my original bonnet badge and forming a copy on the back of the new one.
If I use a silicone rubber mould, what would I need to release the formed...
My A200 is a pre-facelift 169 coupe, so suffers from the known wobbly weld rust problem.
Tried to get Mercedes to take care of that under their 30-yr rust warranty, but no luck, despite the full MBSH, and it's being on Service Care plan.
So, what are my options - how to remedy this...
Like it says - For a W202 but as weld on could be fitted to pretty much anything with a bit of fettling I should imagine

Having stripped out the interior of my w124 to dry it out and trace any further leaks I found a small split in the weld between the rear arch and the main body, under the rear seat. As per photo.
No idea if this a source of the leak or a symptom of it, but it needs fixing.
