2003 C200 Supercharger leaking during smoke test

2003 C200 Kompressor. I am doing a smoke test on the intake manifold and on the bottom front side of the supercharger smoke is escaping. I am assuming it is some kind of release valve, but it doesn't seem right to be open with engine off. Can someone confirm that this is not normal and that the release valve is stuck open or broken? The smoke photo was taken with a video scope positioned under the left front of the supercharger when facing the car.
