Hi thought I would share a mates problem and see which way he should proceed. A few days ago my friend bought a high mileage 2009 plate c220cdi from a private seller, today the first long drive he went on the car started to over heat he stopped and let it cool down added some water and got home. He said the coolant had hardly gone, the fan was working and no sign of any coolant leaks, also there is no sign of oil emulsification or oil in coolant. Could this be a thermostat problem or something more serious.
