Hi,

I have a 116 CDI Dualiner from 2013 and would like to find a copy of the specifications from Mercedes, particularly the published unladen weight for that model.

This is to try and confirm it fits into the Dual Purpose Vehicle classification.

Cheers

David.

You should be OK ... my 120 was pretty close to the 2040 kg limit, but that has a bigger & heavier engine. May be best to contact M-B as I don't think the brochures give unladen weight or kerbweight (not the same, but you can work out the former from the latter). You will need to add on the weight of any options/extras - I did get M-B to provide this info.

I'm sure you've seen the official definition:

Cheers. Yep, seen it but just wanted to tick the 2040 kg box.

Its interesting that the .gov overview says "designed to weigh no more than 2,040 kg when unladen" which may suggest that extra's are not significant (unless the small print suggests otherwise).

I think it does. The legal definition in the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 says
a vehicle constructed or adapted for the carriage both of passengers and of goods or burden of any description, being a vehicle of which the unladen weight does not exceed 2040 kg, and ...

I looked into this at some length when speccing our Dualiner and was advised then (early 2007) that it was the actual unladen weight that mattered. As mentioned M-B were able to supply the weight of the options we were looking at (totalling 90kg).

Cheers :)
