Anyone know where the oem mic is?

I thought it was on within the o/h light unit. on the drivers side, but maybe that's a temperature sensor?

I've fitted a Chinese HU and it doesn't matter which mic I cover the other party doesn't notice a difference. Those being the one on the unit, which is usually naff, the one I though was in the o/h light, or the one that came with the unit that I've run out of the sun visor light so over my head.

The w211 has 2 - 4 microphones in the overhead light and rear view mirror.

The cable runs down the LHS (passenger RHD car side). it ends up at a connector behind the rear seat back between the trunk and back rest of rear seat. its a 4 pin connector.

I don’t think your Chinese unit will be able to use these factory microphones. i would place your units microphone near the cluster for a discreet and direct placement.
