A205 Cabriolet 2018 Ambient Lighting

Hello,
My car is a 2018 A205 Cabriolet which does not have Ambient Lighting. I've checked on the doors and around the centre console but nothing. There is orange lights around the memory seat switches but that's about it.

Can anyone recommend a kit and coding dongle so I can fit and activate it from the main screen. I am UK based and happy to DIY install.

I don't have an answer to your question, but just to say that my experience with an earlier model (W204) was that the ambient lighting wasn't available as a separate option, but only as part of an options pack that included other bits as well, such as kerb lights and illuminated door handles (I think it was called 'Luxury Pack' or suchlike).

The 'Dongle' method essentially hacks the front SAM but does not actually change the SCN coding on the Mercedes Benz central computer, meaning that if the car gets a firmware upgrade at the dealer then the configuration saved on the central computer will be downloaded to the front SAM and could override the Dongle hack. Having said that, if the car is no longer under new car warranty, then it's generally not a problem because it's unlikely to see the dealer anyway.

Both Comand UK and Baybrooks can do this, but (a) they are far away from you, and (b) they will likely only carry out a 'proper' retrofit (including SCN coding to update the Datacard) and so will be more expensive.
