Hey everyone,
Apologies for the very long message
My second post about my A35AMG bad luck, it seems to pile up every single week...
Little bit of background on the car
The car is from June 2020, I’ve had it for no more than 6 months, done +18000miles, had its first service check on time without any problems (All green), broke in the car exactly as told by Mercedes. I always wait for engine to heat up before driving, I have done 4-5 launch controls since I had my car and lastly, I rarely drive the car on Sport+, I have Individual mode set with everything set to comfort and engine set to sport+ to use in a tunnel or under a bridge. Oh and I always use SP98 or more.
Last night, I was driving back from Lyon to London and about 100km (60miles) our of Calais on the motorway, the yellow engine light came on, the engine started to bounce up and down (the Revs were bouncing up and down too), something like a misfire, at that I was on 7th gear at about 2500rpm climbing a 4-5% hill. Thank fully this was around 4am, I have a complet loss of power and the speed went from 130km/h (81mph) all the way down to 50km/h (30mph), really lucky i was all alone, there was only 1 lane available due to road works and no emergency lane available either. I had to come to a complet stop on the live lane and restart my engine, move into Sport mode and push hard on the gas to climb the hill, the car felt like it was about to stall all the way up to 3000rpms, once that was passed, the bounces and sound of misfiring (rattles? Not sure) where significantly less, I had to drive the remaining 250km (160mph) on 4-5th gear at 4000rpm. Getting in and out of the Eurotunnel was hell, it felt like I was about to stall at any moment.
Did anyone experience this? I’ve searched everywhere in the forum and online but can’t seem to find anything about this
Could it be the catalytic filters or the injectors?
I made sure to always fill up before reaching half a tank, (I had to stop many times...)
I will be contacting Mercedes Hemel Hampstead or Watford about this today and arrange for a check up
