Advice on sport to normal suspension

E220 SALOON AMG SPORT 2014
Hi everyone, i recently bought a W212 E220 CDI (facelifted) 2014 with AMG Sport package, thus it comes with a sporty and stiff suspension which is a bit lower than the normal suspension, and 19" AMG wheels.
where i live, the roads are broken and are not being fixed, so i thought about replacing the sport shocks, struts and springs with the base springs to eliminate vibrations and rough rides and make the car a bit higher.
also i would like to change the wheels, because 19" wheels allows for very thin tires, thus also creating alot of vibrations, i would like to ask if i could get any advice in these matters.
from a friend of mine, i heard that Monroe suspension parts are quality stuff. , and what rim size would you guys suggest? i think that 18" would not make alot of difference?
Thank you in advance folks.

My 19's are 35 front and 30 rear , 18's are 40 all round , but that's a % of the tyre width and not in mm . If I were you I'd go to 17's and leave the suspension and springs alone.

Monroe are not known as the best.

Sachs (OE Supplier) and Koni have a good reputation buy also look at MB supplied. They are often competitive in price.

Wheels and tyres can make a significant diffeence but you may be limited on size iif your car has the larger brake discs fitted.

It might be easier to change the car for one with more compliant suspension as changing it will affect the resale value.

Also, if you modify it you must tell your insurance company.
Some are OK, some refuse to cover modifications from standard

The motor trade don't like modified/non-standard cars. I would suggest looking to trade in for a substitute vehicle with the suspension characteristics you desire. A 2014 AMG Mercedes may well have its non-standard/non-OEM suspension replaced already. You could spend a lot of money on wheels/tyres / suspension replacement and still not get what you're after and as a bonus shed value off your existing car.

Hello, thank you all for the kind advice you gave. please forgive me as i forgot to mention that the car was bought in the UK and exported to another country as i dont live in the UK. and the car culture in my country does not shed the value when a car is modified, nor do the insurance company care. * i live in a 3th world country if i have to say so. thus selling is also not an option. Only thing i could do is change the wheels and/or the suspension.
i spoke with a dutch mechanic and he recommends the Sachs or Bilstein B4, and when buying i have to make sure it states that it is for a Standard chassis, i also have to order new springs from bilstein or Sachs stating Standard chassis.
For the wheels, i think i am going to replace it with 17 inch wheels with fatter tires. also noting where i live, it is also now going to be a headache to find someone who can program the new tpms sensors, or i hope i can transfer over the old sensors onto the new wheels. *my car has most likely the larger brakes discs *i think* but i am confident that it is going to fit a 17 inch
according to you guys, would this be a good plan to go with or would you advice a slight change in the plan?
P.S i also want to buy new springs for the standard chassis, as i could do better with bit higher car.
the reason i also really want to change the suspension is because i drove the same car but that was the Non AMG version so it had the standard suspension and fatter tires, and it was a smooth ride, it was hard to notice bumps on the roads even.
thanks again folks

Softer dampers will help with ride quality but won't alter the car's height.

Higher (and sifter) springs will raise the ride height.

At the front, you may want a complete strut at this point.

I have the same car, mines 2013. (Check profile picture) I'm running 18s with 245 40 18 tyres.

From the factory, complete with Mercedes part number on.
I noticed it when changing the wheel.
I even went to double check before I posted it here.

Check that you have tyre pressure sensors.
Many monitor wheel revs via the ABS sensors to warn of low pressure nowadays, so no on wheel sensors.

My 2014 Viano doesn't have them.

if you change your shocks and tyres, you are going to have to rename what your car is....... :D ;)
