Ady`s W124 for sale

Not misleadnig at all - a w124 300CE with a complete Carlsson bodykit and more, is rightfully called a Carlsson CE.

It's what Carlsson did - they supplied bodykits for people to install.

Exactly what's happened here.....

fair enough,

Thanks for the info

so there's no 'official' suspension, engine, interior mods then?

Just a few bits of fibreglass.

That all seems a bit like bolting an AMG spoiler on the back and re-badging the car

That bodykit is as much fibreglass as your E55 bumpers

I realise that and to be honest the AMG bodykit probably isn't as good as the standard Merc stuff - it's a bit flimsy.

However, there's more to an AMG car than just a few bits of fibreglass :)

Under the skin, that one is just a bog standard 300CE - the point I was making

Point is, that back then, an AMG car, or Carlsson car, did not have to have the whole 9 yards to be classified as an AMG or Carlsson. AMG and Carlsson were independant tuners and you could have the ground effects with engine / drivetrain mods or ground effects alone....either way, it ended up as a tuner item.

Whereas AMG w124s are hugely common, Carlsson w124s are ultra rare....to find a car with a complete Carlsson bodykit and wheels is a very rare sight.

But is anyone buying them/interested in it? I hope it finds a good home but the kit does nothing for me.

Thanks for the info Talbir. I knew about the AMG stuff but I'd always thought that Carlsson car were modified as well.

I still think that 300CE with Carlsson body kit would have been a better description :)

It’s been a while and looks like I need to clear some things up. Please do not confuse this car with my old CE this runs 100%.

The first I knew of my ad being removed was this thread! So I contacted Pistonheads and they came back with this reply. Obviously someone has far too much time on their hands!!

"We were contacted by the Mercedes Benz car club with the following message:

that car advertised as a Carlsson is nothing like a Carlsson - it is in fact a 300CE dressed up and therefore misrepresented link to where he bought the car http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/general-discussion/48886-my-new-w124-coupe.html you'll notice that it lacks the carlsson body kit that was salveaged from his previous car."

My ad has now been reinstated and if the person who sent this malicious message read the advert properly it quite clearly states it is a 300CE with a genuine body kit!! A misleading ad would have been calling it a Carlsson C35-24 KAT

Is there any wonder the club loser’s members when you have members that do this! Not sure what I did to said member :dk:

I probably won’t be back for some time after I sell my W124 which is a shame as have made a few friends here in the last couple of years.

You don't have to have a MB to be on here. It would be good to see you around.

SWINES!

No doubt that it was a jealous person - That contact did not come from an mbclub.co.uk email account.

Ask them who sent it under the FIA

That was a low thing to do. May not even have come from this forum? What's the proof? maybe someone on pistonheads monitoring the forum--saw the thread and put 2 and 2 together to make 5? The advert is perfectly clear IMHO with no attempt to mislead a prospective buyer as far as I can see.

just as a minor point - if the report came from the 'Mercedes Benz Car Club' why throw your toys out of the pram on here?
