I am soon to get my new GLA200 2019 model but just realised it does not have DAB radio. I have seen aftermarket ones on Amazon but it seems that these for cars with an Android head. My question is does my car have an Android head? I have also seen an App on Google Play called DAB-Z can this App be down loaded to my system? If so any one able to tell me how to do it.

Any advice on fitting an aftermarket DAB Radio would be appreciated. Thanks

A 2019 Mercedes that doesn’t have DAB? I mean, I know they generally lag behind with regards tech but surely not?

Hello David, many thanks for your reply.

I will keep in mind this adaptor but I was looking for a USB adaptor that would work with the factory fitted entertainment centre. But I am having trouble trying to find out if the factory fitted entertainment centre is Android and if so how to add the relevant app.

On the 2019 model It was an optional extra (something like £400!) but as the car is already manufactured with out this option it is to late to add this option. That is why I need an aftermarket (USB) adaptor.

Thanks Mal

Unbelievable - I got in a taxi a couple of months ago which was a 2008 Ford Mondeo and even that had DAB! (Nothing wrong with Ford btw)

Give COMAND Online a call, I'm sure they will be able to help.

Sadly the USB DAB offerings don’t work well in the newer NTG 5 vehicles. They worked well in the earlier USB cars.

Your car does not have an Android based headunit. You might be lucky and have the Android auto option which will allow some Android apps from your phone to run but this is very very dependent on exactly when your car was built.

If you email me the VIN number to [email protected] I can advise more.
