Hi new to the forum here.

I've been having issues with EGR confirmed by Mercedes specialist. I've seen Wynnes EGR cleaner online on YouTube and amazon. Its £7 so thought I'd give it a try. I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to engine/car maintenance so was looking for advice regarding this. The mechanic has gold me to put in good quality fuel and thrash it down the kotorway in 4th gear. Done this several times but still keep getting the light coming on.
1. Does the EGr cleaner work?
2. Can someone direct me when the air intake would be on the engine to spray the egr cleaner?
Many many thanks

What engine is it how old is vehicle and what's the milage

I have doubts that any cleaner will have much effect by the time it has been through the combustion process and then tries to clean built up residue in the EGR Valve.

I would also be wary of spraying into the intake manifold through the MAF as these are delicate components.

Did your Mercedes "Specialist" not suggest removing the EGR and cleaning it to see if that solved the problem?

Its a 2016/17 CLA diesel done 43000
Apparently it has 2 EGRs a main one and a smaller one. I've had the main one replaced but the smaller one is the one causing the faults now. The specialist said to have a warm engine and try to blast it out. After forking out 600odd on the 1st egr I'm not looking forward to replace 2nd egr

That sounds very expensive.

Which engine model and what vehicle?

How did the "specialist" decide there were EGR issues? It's odd they don't know which one is the problem.
By the bigger EGR you mean High Pressure EGR and the smaller, Low Pressure EGR.
I'm guessing you're not mechanically minded, so forget those magic potion cleaners, just take it sonewhere else.

Its the lower pressure EGr which is the problem now. I've already had the high pressure egr replaced
