C350
Hi - am about to join the club

As this forum seems like a great resource can anyone give me any indication of what i should expect to spend to service a C350 (2010) for an A service or a B service and also key servicing milestones

If you have an idea of Dealership vs Independent cost that would be brilliant

Thanks

Servicing on your C350 is done dependent on what has been done todate and the mileage. You should contact a dealer and get them to check what has been done in the past and what is due. If you contact the dealer that supplied it or serviced it they may even print out the invoices for you so that you have a record. Assumimg everything is uptodate and the car is still within Mobilo then many of the C350 on here find that the service plan that MB offers between £30-£60 pm is the best way to go. What model do you have Coupe/saloon, Elegance /Sport? Photos? Cheers :)

Thanks - am after the Sport Saloon... will update as and when i buy it!

When you get your car you can put in the details on the Mercedes electronic service schedule which will tell you what is required!
Then you can print it out and take it to your favourite indy! and save about 1/3 on the price.

Tony.

Will do - will be picking it up tomorrow!

Could someone indicate what i should be looking for - it's a 2010 model.

I'm looking specifically for where the vin is in the engine bay(?) and where to cross reference the vin plate in the windscreen

Plus any other pre purchase advice really - it's a private sale but the car has remaining extended Merc warranty

It's my first Merc so any pointers are most welcome

Thanks

Well, I didn't end up buying as we couldn't agree on my trade in price... have walked away really disappointed.

Something which I found strange was that the car didn't have Bluetooth - isn't this standard on the W204s?

Another question is that if the car has command, can I assume it has Bluetooth also or is that a separate option?

All UK W204's have Bluetooth telephone connectivity regardless of which audio system is fitted. Only later cars have Bluetooth audio streaming capability.

The one I saw had the phone prep apparently but didn't have connectivity. What does it take to get the connectivity so the phone shows in the radio section?

On a side note, do mercedes negotiate on used car prices? I know some garages who claim to be the most competitive do not

OK, so my last purchase didn't work out.

On the the next one - this time i'm buying from a main dealer. I've been told it will be spic and span and almost as good as new when i go and give it the final once over next week :)

My viewing will be pre service. Can anyone tell me what i should be looking out for and asking them to do in the service or otherwise?

It's a 350 cdi saloon, 2010, with command

It has the digital media interface also - does this mean i can stream from my iphone 5 and use the steering wheel controls?

TIA

Natively you can't wirelessly stream music, but with the DMI fitted you can use a wired connection to connect your iPhone 5 to the car and control the music through COMAND and the steering wheel controls. The phone will also charge while connected, and if you've paired it for Bluetooth Telephony, you'll be able to make and receive calls too.

If you really must stream the music wirelessly, this accesssory will do the trick.

Be aware that COMAND in that vintage of W204 will not read your contacts list from an iPhone. You will need to send them to the car by another means (there's another thread currently running which details the options).

OK, thanks for the tip - i'll try and make sure that the dealer shows me how to get my contacts into my car before i leave!

Any other top tips for pre-purchase/collection?

hi i just picked up the c350 cgi sport,

few niggles i found were
ive got the full pop up command sat nav and you cannot turn off cd/radio merely just mute it but it wont mute the sat nav

DRLs turn on HIDs too (not just side light)

I got the leather interior, it does feel a bit more like plastic golf tacky but thats probably me coming from down from 2 E-class's

I'll ask about the sat nav voice commands - i thought you could turn her/him up/down irrespective of the radio volume - will ask

I did notice that about the leather - it doesn't look to be the greatest, almost like a faux leather hand bag(!), although it was a requirement when looking for a new (used) car

Thanks but that link doesn't work for me

Also - between the buttons for the heated seats, a row of four buttons - one of them is for the parking sensors but the other three are blanks - anyone know what they could contain?

Any other good pre collection tips?!?!?

Congratulations, I am a new owner too. I was very tempted by the c350 cdi. The claimed fuel economy is better than a pre-bluefficiency c220 which is amazing for a 3.0 v6. I settled on a c250 (estate) as the perfect balance between power, engine weight, fuel economy etc. Unfortunately they are rare, and I couldn't find one in the spec. I wanted so I went for a c220 cdi estate instead which I am delighted with.

On the left end it is the sport mode button (was told that this is optional extra with sports suspension kit), the one next to it used for the rear headrest as far I remember, then the pdc and I got to check what the right one was... But once I m in my car I will post u a picture.

Well, i'm sorry to say that my stay with Mercedes is to be short lived - see ad in Classifieds :((

Well, my ad will be up as soon as i'm allowed to post!
