i have a problem with my car hoping someone can help the other day opened car with key put into swictch turn on no dash lights checked battery ok had an auto electrician check said the key wasnt registering needed new key got a lock smith to make a new key reconfigure with the car electronics checked with switch & lock emilator all working daSH BOARD LIGHTS NOW COME ON BUT WILL NOT START EVEN WITH A TOW the electrician initially checked relays & fuses said they was all working is there anything that these guys have missed or is there another thing that could be the problem its a manual gearbox car the car ihas had new discs pads & handbreak linings along with both front arms in preperation for mot realy frustrated with it at moment spent well over 1000 so far & cant use please any surgestions would be realy apreciated

It's possible you have an EIS issue preventing your car from starting.
I would get in touch with these guys in Birmingham who can advise.

thanks just had another visit from auto electrician hes had his machine on today faults saying engine comunication fault hes checke the plugs on the ecu on the airbox the plugs had oil in them there was a smell of burn on top of ecu he sergested taking it off send to ecu testing company see if they can fixhe recons a sensor has been leeking oil sending oil up the loom

More than likely the cam sensors at the front of the engine are leaking oil which has gone up/down the loom and into the ECU.
If you get the ECU fixed and the wiring loom cleaned/replaced, the cam sensor magnets need replacing and extension pig tails fitted to stop any more oil entering the loom.

Hello there Alsim and welcome to the forum, nice to see you here, and I have to admit I am very much a newbie myself but already learning new things.

So sorry to hear about your motor, I hope the real problem is found, sorted and you get her up and running back to normal sooner rather than later.
