Thinking about one in a few months time and wondered about real life impressions of it. :)

They have lots of angles where they look awful on the road.
Someone 2 streets down has one and the more I see it, the more I dislike it.

It's only an A class at the end of the day, so don't expect too much...

I'd concur with this.

I've encountered several. They look OK when seen from the front but from rear and side just look so wrong.

It's weird when one which was partially obscured pulls out from a junction because the front initially looks fine and then pulls it's weird rump into view and it's jarring in a very bad way.

I was hoping that the pre-facelift W212 was the nadir of the current MB generation - but after sort of fixing the W212 the MB design department have slipped with the CLA.

Maybe our cousins across the pond really like it.

I still reckon that the GLA will be the best seller on that platform.

Just as long as they don't go over the top with the styling! :wallbash:

Had one for a few weeks... Enjoyed it. Liked the snappy gear changes and the attention it got. Quite practical, quite economical, quite nice.

Not my fav in the range and I didn't realise how much I missed my C220 sport plus till I got back into it. For cruising I love the rwd and way it feels on the road.

My friends and family always ask about it and also the A, but I usually advise spending a fraction more and getting a nice spec C or upwards. They feel like a cut above in some ways and more traditional mb.

Cla 250 4 matic ordered

Hi. Ordered mine in late December. My C220 AMG sport is being traded in. I fancied the curved lines for a change. The double clutch box drew me in too. Better gear changes than my existing one. April delivery quoted but I won't hold my breath.

Kept getting backdated so cancelled and went for a 2012 c63. Same price, much better car. Loaned a cla 45. Couldnt wait to return it. Awful.

Well only seen one in the US. C classes are far more popular over stateside. They don't seem to get A classes out there either. The most popular smaller cars are Mini's or Fiat 500.

I'd agree that in the flesh the rear three-quarters look is a bit odd.

Me too! In a year or so that could be on my list.. :)

Anyone got some input for this as currently considering one as a replacement for our E coupe. Want something a bit different again, but swmbo misses 4 doors, so CLA is ticking the boxes...

Like others I'm not 100% convinced about the styling but then theres also some angles of the E coupe that dont quite work imo...

As for the GLA, they look great in publicity shots but I find them very disappointing in the metal....very, very ordinary and not SUV like at all....can't see the point.

My son's A has surprised several people with its space, comfort and build. Far better a drive than road tests would have you believe. Looks are a personal thing so I wouldn't advise either way on that and I would therefor would not steer anyone away from the CLA you are considering.

Put it this way, I have no trouble being passenger (front or rear) or driver and I find it a cracking drive. It soaks bumps nicely with no banging/crashing. Sure, it is never going to be C or E luxuriant but it is unmistakably an MB. Hope this helps.

Hmmm, so they really are as rare as it appears....!!
