Anyone swapped a 280GE g wagon M110-994 engine for a M110-984 out of a sedan?

My UK sourced 1982 280GE threw a rod on Sunday while I was collecting some parts in Auckland (New Zealand). Now sitting on the street in a lovely leafy suburban street, I looked at my options. Rebuild engine is probably more than it is worth.

But I came across a 1982 M110-984 engine that has the high compression set up. 064,000 km appears to be original. It has sat since 2012, but was started a month ago, when they decided to get rid of it. It would not idle despite new plugs and fuel pump, and I expect the K-jetronic system is stuffed. On my M110-994, the K-jetronic system has just been done over and starts and runs brilliantly. I've swapped over one g-wagon motor for another, but never taken a sedan long block, and don't know what has to be replaced.

Positives: Priced right, low KM, 30 extra HP.
Negatives: Could have suffered internal damage from sitting. Must do a compression test and pressure test before deciding, but still a risk
Alternatives: $4-8,000 (NZD) to rebuild mine. Or sell for whatever and try to find something comparable for reasonably money.

I've started a spreadsheet with questions:

PART.............................QUESTIONS................................................................................ | GASKETS
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Air Intake Plenum....Replace whole fuel injection system (sedan bad, mine new) | GASKET: A1101411380
Exhaust Manifold.....Replace back manifold - CAN I LEAVE FRONT MANIFOLD ON | GASKET: A1101420380
Water Pump...............One forum post says the M110-984 won't fit the g wagon | TRUE? Need gaskets?
FlyWheel......................One forum post says this needs to be changed | TRUE?
Steering Pump..........Forum post says swap brackets so pump further from the engine | TRUE?
Torque Converter....A forum post says use off the gwagon | TRUE?
Sump.............................Use off the gwagon - SEALANT or GASKET? | SEALANT = A0019892520
Oil pickup....................A 110 mechanic says I will have to change this as well TRUE?
Alternator....................A forum post says use off the gwagon - TRUE?
Blanking plates.......The gwagon has a lot of blanking plates on the side of the engine | Surprises here?
Engine mounts........Do I remove the mounts from the spare g wagon motor or just detach block?
R&R steps..................What is the sequence to remove and replace the engine - a checklist

Also, is the cylinder head of my original M110-994 and the one in the M110-984 the same? If I decided to do the head, I would prefer to take it off the spare in my garage so it was ready when I did the remove and replace, rather than have the g wagon waiting in a shop for the machine shop to do its thing.

Anyone done this swap before?
