Hi

I know you can download firmware updates for you car from here: Home @ Mercedes-Benz Connectivity, but I wanted to know whether you can download and apply the updates to your car via USB stick rather than burning to a CD?

Car in question is a 2014 W204 C class coupe if that affects anything.

Thanks.

I replied in your other post saying CD only, not realising your car was a 2014 model:doh:
I thought you had an older W211 E63 for some reason. Apologies.

No worries!
I started another new thread as just realised the thread I replied to was pretty old!

My other car is a 2012 E63 sonot far off!!

That depends of what model and year is your car, and what software you are trying to update?

The Bluetooth cradle device (if you have one) firmware can be updated via Internet download.

Maps on COMAND systems can be updated via CD (all COMAND units) or USB (newer COMAND units only).

Maps on Becker Map Pilot are updated via a PC. Maps on Garmin Map Pilot are updated by purchasing a new SD-Card.

Some older COMAND units can have their firmware updated by CD.

Some new cars equipped with Mercedes Me Connect will download certain software updates directly from the Internet.

All other software and firmware updates require MB STAR with valid MB subscription.

Ah ok thanks.

I have a 2016 GLC with Audio 20 and was wondering how id do the firmware update.

Ive already lost my live traffic and MB dealership have no idea how to resolve but I was more interested in updating the firmware for now on my audio 20 if possible.

When the free 3-years TomTom Live Traffic subscription expired, have you tries renewing the subscription on the Mercedes Me portal for a further year? If you tried and it did not work, then I suggest that you contact the Mercedes Me helpline for support (and not the dealer).

I did try it said something about hardware in car not available as its only for command but will give Mercedes me and call.

Thanks

Yours is the Garmin Map Pilot?

If so, then I think that the TomTom Live Traffic service is renewed when you update the maps, i.e. when you buy a new maps SD-Card. Though the live traffic will only work with original SD-Cards bought from MB (£99), and not with cheap ones bought off eBay.

Either way, Comand UK will know what needs to be done :thumb:

Makes sense I will get myself down there.

So when I plugged my original SD card into my laptop and tried to update it, the download manager wiped the SD card (which i still have but no data on)

So I bought a new one from ebay , now I have two SD cards and original with no data and a fake with no live traffic lol
