Attention Assist!

I had a meeting in Carterton Oxfordshire yesterday, it's around 2 hours from me, I was overtaking a car on the A40 just before Witney, Mirror, Mirror, Indicate, Mirror, pull out to Lane 2 and:

CHING, CHING, CHING! (noise) Looked at the Dash and the message "ATTENTION ASSIST, Take a Break" is presented in bright amber/orange!

Take a break I nearly sh@t myself, all of my attention to overtaking was momentarily wiped out

Camand did ask if I required directions to the nearest Motorway Services, though it couldn't identify the nearest Cafe, that would have been in Witney!

You need to do this at the start of every journey when the vehicle has not been used for a certain amount of time. If your 'From Start' has reset, Attention Assist will be reset.

Aha!! That explains a lot. GRAV888. I was wondering why I had never had the "Attention Assist" on the same journey before, I had reset "From Start" on refuelling the night before! Though I did think it was meant to be activated if your drove for a certain Distance/Time without a break!

I turned off the assist just over a year ago when I got the car and has been back on since. If you talking about resetting the long term memory statistics that has not made it turn back on, nor did leaving the car for 2 weeks while on holiday.

You two must be doing something different to me then. Mine is switched off and it stays off.

trust me...its a useful!!!
I had to do 2 very long drives in 2 days.. - the system works out (a) how long have you been driving...- (b) what time of night (c) measures your behaviour...

I had the sensitivity set high as my "manager" has said I must be in the remote office by 9am... ( 3 hours in peak rather than 1 hour in day time traffic)...
its saved my life... reminded me...to get a break and a coffee...

ignore it ...or Yes...its a distraction..but better than falling asleep and tracking under a truck at 70!

Had it in my ML, only came on once as i turned it off in settings. First thing i did in my Audi was turn the feature off.

If I turn mine off, it stays off until I leave the car for a certain amount of time, say overnight. Then it turns itself back on.
It also then resets the FROM START.
Mine is a 2017 model, so they may have made it like this on newer models.
