B180 Sqeaky noise from belt/pulleys

hi everyone
I have this sqeaky sound on and off for about 2 months gets worse when its wet or damp ,took the car to dealers before but could not get the car make the noise so left it untill now . so booked it in to mercedes friday morning i rang them just after lunch to see what was happening .they told me that i needed a modified belt but none in stock till monday so ok , spoke them on monday and asked them what was the differanace ,belt is made of diffrant material and has diffrant patteren and 1mm thicker and changed the bearing on the end of the tesioner as standard all under warranty no more sqeaking .:thumb:

Interesting. My a160 with the same but smaller engine has the same problem and its going back again as issue has not been resolved yet. What you are reporting is identical. Let me know how you get on over the next few days

No difference if i engage clutch or not ,sqeaking when idling and driving upto 20 mph delivered to home washed and hoovered no more speaking.
My dad has a A180 cdi and his was a pulley cost him 600 pounds had to drop engine 3inches and replaced pulleys and belt out of warranty .

Our B180 had something similar and they replaced the Poly-V belt with the new design under warranty, also replaced the tensioners etc. Trouble is the new ones dont seem to last as long as they are already reporting wear on this one at 2.5 years old vs the old one that was nearly 5 years old.....
 
The sqeak is back so booked it into mercedes and now one of the pulleys needs changing waiting for part next week see what happens :dk:
