I have an Android phone a Sony Xperia Xa1 and I am having trouble connecting it to my car The phone calls work fine and so do text messages The trouble is with Bluetooth audio. In the phones Bluetooth settings I have to turn it off as the audio keeps turning on and off repeatedly and keeps disconnecting any ongoing phone calls If I go into the phones setting and turn off Bluetooth audio everything is OK. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Try and reduce the BT bit rate on your phone via developer options

I have been into the developer setting and tried 1,4. 1.5.&1.6 but all the same result.

Try and experiment with bits per sample and audio playback quality if you have them. Alternatively reboot the phone when that happens. In all fairness ntg 3.5 and 4.5 had phone compatibility lists so you might need a firmware update.

I have tried all the settings I can find. It does this when no music being played and just connected via Bluetooth

My only suggestion is to do a network reset on the phone and try pairing again. Ntg 4.5 is 7 years old so I don't expect it to play nicely with bt 5 devices.

Having the same issue on Note 9 and Samsung S7, would be great to get find out if this can be resolved.

My NTG4.5 works fine with Samsung Galaxy S6, S8, and S9.

Both voice and music streaming.

Are there any settings you would like me to check so that you can compare?

PS - my COMAND NTG4.5 was retrofitted by Comand UK and I have not changed any settings on the HU since the retrofit. It all worked fine for me first time.

Can you try turning off WiFi on the phone?

I have tried turning off the WiFi it makes no difference. I have tried connecting via the phone and the head unit still the same. I have been through all the settings on the head unit and the developer options on the phone still no difference. Could it be to do with android 8.0 I have read generally online some people have had issues.

That's what I have been reading as well that android 8.x has BT connection stability problems for some phones. Last thing to try is disable BT scanning for Google location services

I have even tried that as well but no help.
