Bonnet emblem on a W209 CLK?

When I finally made the swap from W208 to W209, I felt I made the right choice but there are some things I missed from the older car. One of these is the bonnet star, vital to the car's identity but sadly discontinued on the newer cars. I know the diameters are different so not possible to simply install one from a W208. But has anyone attempted to make an aftermarket star that fits a W209?

I'm in the same situation and wanted one for my 2015 S212. Got one from ebay, it came from china although the listing said UK seller.
It was a piece of cr*p. The method of securing it was different from the original and impossible to work with. Also it leant back. From pics of my old 2010 212 it shouldn't be so. Tried to bend it in the vice and it snapped so it went in the bin.
So be careful, I think I would try a car breaker rather than a new chinese piece of cr*p one
